bahay kubo the brand
Founded by Christina Nadin
Growing up in the 90s, my mum would complete her outfits with oversized and elevated hair accessories. Inspired by the nostalgia of this time, I wanted to create a perfect collection of timeless pieces, to effortlessly finish any look. The products use high quality materials and offer a firm hold for even the thickest hair.
The name ‘bahay kubo’ originates from the Philippines where my mum is from and translates to ‘Nipa hut’, a traditional family home. A bahay kubo is a symbol of unity in the community, and working together to achieve a common goal. True to this ethos, bahay kubo wants to give back, and partners with grassroots NGO, Lokal Lab, based in Siargao, Philippines. The Philippines has always been a second home to me, and is the place I feel most grounded and connected to the local culture.
